Frequency Translator
The FT3010 Frequency Translator is a part of VCom s expanding line of broadband network communications products. It is fully compatible with hybrid fiber/coax systems and is specifically designed to address the requirements of higher order digital modulation techniques. The FT3010 is a fully agile frequency translator. The translator s input and output frequencies can be independently adjusted in 250 kHz steps, which allows for maximum flexibility for processing in a broadband network. The FT3010 is specifically designed for moving single or multiple data modulated carriers from one reverse CATV channel to another forward CATV channel. Advanced design using high level mixing and dual stage conversion to microwave IFs produce spurious free operation to 1 GHz. The unit also provides a 44 MHz IF loop through for extended functionality such as addition and deletion of carriers.
The FT3010 is extremely user friendly and is as simple to configure as a clock radio. A brightly back lit LCD shows the input and output frequency, as well as the IF loop and RF output level. All functions are controlled using three soft touch push buttons (Mode, Up and Down). Since the unit measures and displays the RF output level the requirement for a spectrum analyzer is eliminated.
The FT3010 is one of WaveCom s Next Generation products which is microprocessor controlled and has self diagnostic features and an option feature of storing failure/fault event history in nonvolatile memory.
