CompactFlash(CF)卡是一种固态电子盘，它具有标准IDE接口界面。是一种小体积、大容量、用电极小又不怕震的电子盘。广泛应用于数码相机、个人数字助理（PDA）和工业设备等。在好多场合都用CF卡当硬盘使用取代传统的机械硬盘，因为机械硬盘在频繁的开、关电源中很容易损坏。 制作软路由者也是首选CF卡当硬盘使用，因CF卡比机械硬盘寿命更长、更可靠、更省电（耗电微乎其微，对电脑来讲几乎可以忽略不计）、一个机械硬盘耗电大约是20W，CF卡读写时一般只有20mA至30mA（3.3V）的电流，耗电不到0.1W！休眠电流更小！只有3~4mA。 有了以下这种CF转IDE卡就可在电脑上的IDE接口上使用CF卡！ 还是IDE的母接口，可以直接插在主板的IDE接口上！不用IDE连接线，非常方便！有的主板IDE口还带供电，如是用电少的卡（新出的低速卡）还可以只用IDE接口的电就可以正常工作！
